Dickinson Scholarship
Deadline: April 30
The Dickinson Scholarship is presented to a person entering the library profession, or a school librarian in active service, to go toward college tuition for a school library program. The award will be presented at the annual fall conference. The award includes a citation, free conference registration, two nights in a hotel room for the conference, and $1500 for college tuition.
The candidate must not be a recipient of this identical award the previous three years.
Application Must Include
- A letter from the candidate stating his/her brief philosophy of the role of school librarian, the name of the college/university to which the candidate has or plans to be accepted, current place of employment, and name of local newspaper
- Three letters of recommendation: (from school librarian or college instructor in school librarianship, school principal or college adviser, and a person of the applicant’s choosing)
- A brief summary of the applicant’s scholastic record
