Membership

Join the community of professionals dedicated to providing library services for all students in Virginia. Members of VAASL receive discounted registration for VAASL Annual and Spring Conferences; complimentary access of our publication, the VAASL Voice; and our member-to-member network, which includes discussion forums, personal member circles, and a listserv only available to VAASL members.

Did you know that, as a VAASL member, you are represented on the national level by our participation and leadership roles in AASL? We send representatives to the annual ALA and AASL National Conferences; ALA Legislative Day in Washington, DC; the School Library Journal Leadership Summit; and serve on VDOE committees. You may know that the immediate past- AASL President is fellow Virginian, Mary Keeling, who is also a VAASL Past-President. The current VAASL President is Judy Deichman, former AASL Treasurer. Your issues are raised at the national level through our leadership representatives. Virginia is certainly the “State of AASL Presidents," with five current and former AASL Presidents being VAASL members.

You can now renew your VAASL  membership and it will be good through Sept. 30, 2024. To continue your membership in VAASL you can renew by accessing the invoice sent to your designated email in the VAASL.org system or by clicking "My Profile" and selecting "Invoices" or by clicking "Join/Renew Now" at the right sidebar.
